The Cards are headed for the state tournament at Rupp Arena, after rolling over Pendleton County March 7, 62-40, to win the 10th Region championship. This will mark Clark County's 22nd trip to the big dance, earned by a team destined for greatness. The Cards started the game in style for the 4,000 fans at the Mason County Fieldhouse, jumping out to a 13-3 lead, and leading 27-10 at the end of the first quarter. Robbie Stenzel had 15 points, Jaylen Daniel had 14 points, and Corey Rogers and Travis Purvis had 10 points each. Bopper Stenzel added seven points and five assists. Vinny Zollo had five points and eight rebounds. The Cards, 29-5, will open play in the Sweet 16 at noon Wednesday, March 16, against Oldham County, the 8th Region winner. The Oldham County Colonels are 25-7 on the season and Clark made its last trip to the state tournament in 2007, led by Louisville star Preston Knowles, and advanced to the Elite Eight before being beaten by Ballard. | ALL PHOTOS IN GALLERY BY GRC JOURNALISM STAFF
