 Advisory

Advisories are designed to develop well-rounded students focusing on three areas: service, social and fundraising. Each member is responsible for logging a desinated number of hours in the three categories. Each grade level advisory is led by the class officers. Underclass advisors help raise funds that roll over and accumulate until their senior year. Senior Advisory operates as the major planning committee for all senior year activities.

 

Beta Club

The National Beta Club is a student-centered organization that continually seeks ways to provide opportunities and experiences that enable students to demonstrate the ideals of character, achievement, service and leadership. Members must maintain a 3.2 GPA and demonstrate good character.There is a one-time fee of $15. Any member participating in service projects will be eligible for scholarships. Senior members may wear golden tassels for graduation.

 

Embracing Global Obligations

Embracing Global Obligations is the student-directed community service group at GRC. Students work together identifying and working on service projects that improve our school, our community and our world. 

 

Future Business Leaders of America

Future Business Leaders of America is an education association for students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. FBLA participates in regional and state competitive events. 

 

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is open to all students, providing them an opportunity to grow in their faith through weekly meetings before school and other activities.

Family, Career & Community Leaders
of America

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America promotes personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Science education. Students who have had an FCS class are eligible to belong. FCCLA is unique in that it is the only club that focuses on the family. Club members have opportunities to participate in regional, state and national competitions and activities.

 

First Priority

First Priority combines drama, worship and speaking into full-fledged praise service. It is run by students, for students, all interested in growing in their faith.

 

Future Farmers of America

Future Farmers of America's mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. This is one of GRC's largest and most active clubs.

 

French Club

French Club is for students who want to celebrate French culture throughout the school year. We meet for different holidays, learn about traditions, and usually try a few French foods along the way. Venez nombreux! (Come one; come all!)

 

 Health Occupation
Students of America

The job of Health Occupation Students of America is to educate students about health issues and teach them how to perform CPR and to use the correct health precautions. HOSA benefits students who are looking into a career in nursing and medicine.

 

Martial Arts

The Martial Arts Club encourages students to develop a positive attitude and self discipline, improve self esteem, and develop physical and mental fitness through the martial arts. Training includes Tae Kwon Do, Judo and self defense tactics.

 

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is service oriented and focuses on giving back to the community and school . The requirements for acceptance in NHS are:
-3.5 GPA at the end of the sophomore year (cumulative)
-demonstrate leadership qualities
-good role model
-demonstrate high morals (no record of cheating, suspensions,etc.)
-involved in service activities
One of NHS's most far-reaching activities is a tutoring program for all age school children in Clark public schools.
All students must maintaina 3.5 GPA, take at least one AP course, participate in 15 hours of school serive projects each year, as well as complete 10 hours of individual service projects each year.

 

Science Club

The Science Club's mission is to increase interest in science and science careers.

 

Spirit Club

Spirit Club's mission is to motivate students to use school spirit while supporting their fellow students who are athletes. We want to get students and faculty involved with cheering for the athletes of all sports.

Leadership Program

The Student Technology Leadership Program advances the individual capabilities of students, motivates all students, and creates leadership opportunities through the use of technology.

 

Technology Student Association

The Technology Student Association fosters personal growth, leadership and opportunites in technology, innovation, design and engineering. Members apply and integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics concepts through co-curricular activitis, competitive events and related programs.

 

Venturing Crew

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for high school men and women that is fun and full of challenge and adventure. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Kentucky Youth Assembly
Kentucky United Nations Assembly

The Y-Club is an organization that helps students develop strength in character and an awareness of issues in our state, nation and world. We primarily participate in two conferences: KYA and KUNA.
KYA (Kentucky Youth Assembly) is a three-day, hands-on experience of Kentucky's state government. KYA is a student-led conference in which teens experience first hand what it's like to debate a bill in the capitol chambers, run for state office or argue a case in the state Supreme Court.
KUNA (Kentucky United Nations Assembly) is a three-day experience in diplomacy that encourages understanding and appreciation for our global community. Students confront international issues and offer solutions, celebrate cultural diversity, and increase their sense of humanity through role play as they represent member nations of the UN.
