Graduation Requirements
These requirements apply to graduates in the Class of 2023 and later.

Clark County Schools/George Rogers Clark High School/Phoenix Academy Minimum Graduation Requirements
(Beginning with students who enter grade nine (9) on or after the first day of the 2019-2020 academic year)

1. Complete one or more of the following graduation qualifiers:

Satisfy precollege curriculum as established by the Council on Postsecondary Education in 13 KAR 2:020.

Achieve benchmark score as established by the Council on Postsecondary Education in 13 KAR 2:020 in one (1) section of a college admissions or placement examination.

Complete three (3) postsecondary credit hours or more of a Kentucky Department of Education approved dual credit course with a grade of C or higher.

Complete one (1) Advanced Placement (AP) course and score a three (3) or higher on the corresponding assessment.

Obtain an industry certification as approved by the Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board.

Complete four (4) credits from valid courses within a single Kentucky Department of Education approved career pathway.

Complete a Kentucky Department of Education approved process to verify 500 hours of exceptional work experience or alternative requirements as determined by a student’s Admissions and Release Committee (ARC) and specified in a student’s IEP.

Complete two (2) years in an approved Kentucky Department of Education or Kentucky Labor Cabinet pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeship program.
2. Earn a total of at least twenty-five (25) credits including:

English I, English II, English III, English IV
-
Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, 1 additional math credit
-
Earth Space Science, Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics
-
Integrated Social Studies, World History, US History
-
.5 credit of Health (LET 2.0 counts for this)
-
.5 credit of Physical Education (Together, LET 1.1 and LET 1.2 counts for this)
-
.5 credit Word Processing
-
1 credit Senior Seminar
-
1 credit of Visual & Performing Arts (Any Art or Music class, Floral Design, Smoke Signals)

Academic and career interest standards-based learning experiences – seven and one-half (7.5) credits including four (4) standards-based learning experiences based on the student’s individual learning plan.
3. Demonstrate performance-based competency in technology as approved by the Kentucky
Department of Education.
4. Pass a civics test as required by KRS 158.141.
