Event educates about substance abuse

GRC freshmen participated in Truth and Consequences, an enrichment event designed to allow students to see the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse.

The event was held March 24 with several community representatives participating.

Students were given scenarios related to substance use and visited several community agencies or officials where they learned what could happen if these scenarios happened to them.

Students also experienced supplemental educational opportunities throughout the day.

The purpose of the event was to open the conversation about substance use in our community in an effort to prevent future issues.

Truth and Consequences was presented by Clark County Cooperative Extension in collaboration with the Youth Services Center at GRC.
