Cook hired as assistant principal

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Emily Cook to the administrative team at GRC as Assistant Principal.


"We look forward to the great things Mrs. Cook will be leading with our freshman this year and with the BARR program," said Principal Luke Toy. "Her dedication to our students and past experience at GRC will allow us to provide our incoming students with the behavioral, social-emotional, and academic learning they will need for us to attain great things at GRC in the future."


Mrs. Cook, a native of Russell County in South Central Kentucky, currently resides in Winchester with her husband, AJ, and son, Owen. She began her teaching career in 2014 at Pulaski County High School teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus. Ms. Cook also taught at Cumberland County High School for one year before moving to teach at GRC in the fall of 2020.


Mrs. Cook’s outstanding performance at GRC teaching math, serving our students and leading her team in PLC’s has prepared her for her new role as an assistant principal. Among experience in the classroom, Mrs.Cook also directs the fall and winter color guard programs.


As an assistant principal, Mrs. Cook will bring valuable expertise in curriculum development, student engagement and staff professional growth. Her collaborative approach and commitment to GRC students' success will contribute to our school’s continued success.


“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of those who have poured into me and provided me with life changing experiences," she said. "I didn’t get here on my own and I’m thankful for all of the encouragement along the way. I am extremely excited and honored to be selected as an Assistant Principal for GRC. This school and community have my heart and I’m ready to hit the ground running to make GRC one of the elite!”
